In partnership with G-SHOCK, Complex Australia's Classic Material podcast returns for season two

Complex Australia in partnership with G-Shock is excited to announce the return of the highly anticipated documentary podcast series Classic Material.

Classic Material is a podcast series dedicated to breaking down the back stories to the records that have significantly moved the needle for hip hop in Australia. Season One took a deep dive into 360’s groundbreaking album Falling & Flying.

Season Two explores the story behind Bliss N Eso’s 2006 breakout album Day Of The Dog, their first album with long time record label Illusive Sounds.

Told over three episodes, the Day Of The Dog story features interviews with Bliss (Jonathan Notley) and Eso (Max Mackinnon), producer Weapon X as well as former manager Adam Jankie, label boss Matt Gudinski amongst other people connected to the album’s production.

Once again, Classic Material has been researched and narrated by former Editor In Chief of Complex AU, Steve Duck with recording and post production courtesy of Rohit Mukerjea for Posterboy Media.

Episode One focuses on the group’s early days in the lead up to Day Of The Dog beginning as unsigned, underground rappers slinging their debut mixtape CDs at live shows.

Classic Material Season Two debuts on Wednesday 30th of November on iTunes, Spotify and all good podcast platforms.
